Back in December, I saw a tweet from Design*Sponge founder Grace Bonney saying that the popular design site was looking to update their city guides. I instantly replied and “tweet-pitched” my new hometown of Hamilton, Ontario.
The reply I received marks the first time I’ve been assigned via Twitter.
I quickly got to work compiling my city guide and gathering images to accompany it. The piece was published towards the end of February. I was alerted to that fact via none other than Twitter. I have to say out of anything I’ve ever written, this article has gotten more social media love via Twitter and Facebook from proud Hamiltonians and many of the businesses I featured. Even my alumni association shared the article and my Twitter handle!
